Sehwag Slams Pakistan for Ceasefire Violation

Former India cricketer Virender Sehwag expressed his anger on Saturday after Pakistan violated the ceasefire agreement just hours after U.S.-led diplomatic efforts aimed at defusing the escalating military standoff between the two nations.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Sehwag posted a scathing one-liner, sharing an image of a popular Hindi idiom: “Kutte ki dum tedi ki tedi hi rehti hai,” which roughly translates to “A dog’s tail stays crooked,” implying that some habits never change despite repeated efforts.

Indian cricketers Yuzvendra Chahal and Rahul Tewatia took to Instagram, sharing the same image in their stories in a show of unity after Pakistan’s ceasefire violation. Former opener Shikhar Dhawan also voiced his frustration, stating, “Ghatiya desh ne fir apna ghatiyapan poori duniya ke aage dikha diya,” condemning Pakistan’s actions and calling them out for once again exposing their true character to the world.

Ceasefire Agreement in Doubt After Fresh Explosions and Accusations

The ceasefire agreement intended to ease weeks of escalating India-Pakistan tensions—following the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 tourists—was thrown into question just hours after its announcement. Explosions and blackouts were reported in Srinagar and Jammu, though no casualties were immediately confirmed.

Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri accused Pakistan of violating the ceasefire understanding, stating, “There had been repeated violations… We call upon Pakistan to take appropriate steps to address these violations and deal with the situation with seriousness and responsibility.” He added that the Indian army was “retaliating” against what he termed a “border intrusion.”

In response, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to the ceasefire, claiming India was the one who breached the deal. “We believe that any issues in the smooth implementation of the ceasefire should be addressed through communication at appropriate levels,” the ministry stated.
