The same Bangladesh squad will also feature in a three-match T20I series against the Netherlands. On Friday, August 22, 2025, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced a 16-man squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025. The eight-team continental tournament is scheduled to take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 9 to 28.
Litton Das will continue to captain the Bangladesh national team as they aim to secure their maiden Asia Cup title.
Bangladesh, who made their Asia Cup debut in 1986, have yet to lift the trophy. They recorded their first match win in 2004 and followed it with a second victory in 2008. The team reached the finals in 2012, 2016, and 2018, marking their most notable campaigns.
However, they fell short in the title matches, losing to Pakistan in 2012 and India in both 2016 and 2018, including a second consecutive final defeat to the Men in Blue in the 2018 edition.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz Left Out; Nurul Hasan Returns to Bangladesh Squad

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) selectors have recalled wicket-keeper batter Nurul Hasan and all-rounder Saif Hassan for the Asia Cup 2025. Nurul Hasan last appeared in T20Is during the 2022 World Cup in Australia, scoring just 41 runs in five innings. He has since regained form, amassing 513 runs at a strike rate of 132.90 in the 2024–25 season across the Global Super League, National Cricket League, and Bangladesh Premier League.
The standby list includes Hasan Mahmud, Tanvir Islam, and Soumya Sarkar.
The 16-member squad will also feature in the three-match T20I series against the Netherlands starting August 30.
Asia Cup 2025 Group B: Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong. Bangladesh will face Hong Kong in Abu Dhabi on September 11 to open their campaign, followed by a match against Afghanistan on September 13.
