He highlighted that Vaibhav recorded the second-fastest century in the league’s history.
The IPL unveiled another young star in Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who lit up the 2025 season with his explosive batting. He earned his chance to open the innings after Sanju Samson suffered an injury—and seized the opportunity spectacularly.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi standout performance came against the Gujarat Titans (GT), where he blasted a dazzling century. He reached his hundred in just 35 balls, marking the fastest century by an Indian in the IPL. He finished the innings with 101 runs off only 38 balls.

Speaking about Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Samson revealed that the young batter had been eyeing one of his bats since the very start of the season. He noticed how Vaibhav often lingered around his bat and kit bag, clearly wanting one—or maybe even more.
“I could tell from day one how much he wanted a bat. He used to hang around my bat and kit bag for a long time, so I felt he needed not just one, but perhaps a couple of bats from my collection,” Samson said in a video shared by Rajasthan Royals.
“At the start of the season, I decided to give him one of my best bats so he could prepare with it and get comfortable. I’m really happy he played with it, and something special happened as a result.”
