Shreyas Iyer is leading India A in the ongoing unofficial ODI series against Australia A. The India A captain delivered a stunning performance with the bat in the first unofficial ODI against Australia A. Iyer scored a brilliant century as the match unfolded at Green Park, Kanpur, on October 1 (Wednesday). Originally scheduled for September 30, the game was postponed by a day due to rain.
After winning the toss, Australia A chose to bowl first. India’s openers Priyansh Arya (101) and Prabhsimran Singh (56) gave a flying start, putting together a commanding 135-run opening stand.
Building on this strong foundation, skipper Shreyas Iyer, batting at number three, unleashed a sensational innings, finishing with 110 runs off just 83 balls, including 12 boundaries and four sixes.
India A went on to post a massive total of 413/6 in their first innings, with significant contributions from Riyan Parag (67) and Ayush Badoni (50), adding depth to an already dominant batting display.

India A and Australia A are set to face off in a three-match unofficial ODI series, with the remaining two games scheduled in Kanpur on October 3 and 5. India A had earlier secured the unofficial Test series 1-0.
Shreyas Iyer captained India A in the first unofficial Test but stepped down ahead of the second match due to back issues. He has announced a six-month break from red-ball cricket and informed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) of his decision.
Despite this, Shreyas Iyer remains a key member of India’s 50-over batting lineup and is expected to feature in the upcoming ODI series against Australia later this month. The right-handed batsman last represented India in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in March, finishing as the team’s top run-scorer.
