Lee joked that Ravindra Jadeja could risk injuring himself while performing his signature sword-wielding celebration, specifically pointing to a possible rotator cuff strain from swinging his bat. In his latest YouTube video, the former cricketer playfully advised the 36-year-old not to “celebrate too hard.
“The only way I see him getting injured is from a rotator cuff issue, given the way he performs the sword celebration. I love it, but look after your body—don’t celebrate too hard,” Lee said on his YouTube channel.
Ravindra Jadeja was outstanding for India in the recent England Test series, amassing 516 runs across five matches, including one century and five fifties. He also claimed seven wickets with his spin bowling.
With Ravindra Jadeja just 15 matches shy of the remarkable milestone of 100 Test appearances, Lee encouraged him to continue playing red-ball cricket for another couple of years.
“You know, another 15 Tests is roughly two years. I think he’ll surpass the 100-mark. He’s one of the best all-rounders we’ve seen. At 36, he still has a good couple of years left,” Lee added.
India and England recently played a five-Test series that ended in a 2-2 draw, with every match going down to the fifth day.
“36 but Fittest”—Brett Lee Praises Ravindra Jadeja

Australian legend Brett Lee showered praise on Ravindra Jadeja, calling him a “factory-made cricketer” for his all-around skills. Lee emphasized that Jadeja excels in every aspect of the game, making him a complete player.
“The term we like to use is ‘factory-made cricketer.’ He has everything a cricketer needs and ticks every single box. He gets the basics right, has a simple, no-fuss technique, runs in and bowls accurately, and consistently hits the right line and length while completing his overs efficiently,” Lee said.
Highlighting Ravindra Jadeja fitness, Lee added, “36 years of age, but the fittest. He covers a lot of ground, takes pride in his fitness, and that’s probably why he never shies away from big moments. He’s an entertainer and, if you combined all the qualities you’d want in a cricketer, Jadeja would top the list.”
Ravindra Jadeja now plays only ODIs and Tests for India, having retired from T20Is after the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup triumph.
