Before the Ashes, Australian batsman Steve Smith said that even a great player like Joe Root will find it difficult to make this 100.
Later this year, in the month of November, the Ashes 2025-26 is going to start, which will be played in Australia. Both the teams have started preparations for this. The first match of this series will be played in Perth from 21 to 25 November.

Before the start of the series, Australia’s legendary batsman Steve Smith has warned England that the situation in Australia will be even more difficult. Recently, England finished the Test series played at their home against India in a draw, where England looked in great form in every match.
Which team has the upper hand?
England last won the Ashes series in Australia in 2010-11, when they captured the series 3-1. At that time Alastair Cook had scored 766 runs and James Anderson had taken 24 wickets. But since then England has not won a single Ashes series in Australia. The pitches there and Australia’s brilliant bowling attack have proved to be the biggest challenge for England.
England’s weakness in the series against India was clearly visible that the team loses its balance under pressure and the opposing team easily takes advantage of it.
Steve Smith made a big statement while talking to Sky Sports
Smith said, “I have seen a lot of series against India and I think it was one of the best Test series I have seen in a long time. The cricket played by both the teams was excellent. Therefore, I think England have a good team at the moment. They are obviously playing very aggressive cricket, and I think playing in Australia, especially for their batsmen, will be a big challenge.”
“I think the wickets have been really difficult in the last three-four years. We obviously have a very experienced bowling lineup, which includes players who have been playing for a long time and have been extremely successful. So, I am looking forward to the summer.”
