After being ruled out of the England tour, Nitish Kumar Reddy faces legal trouble as his management agency files a lawsuit against him for Rs. 5 crores.

Nitish Kumar Reddy was recently ruled out of the England tour due to a knee injury. The injured Indian all-rounder is also currently facing legal troubles. His former agent has filed a case against him, claiming over Rs 5 crores in unpaid dues.

Since his impressive Test debut in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25, Nitish’s fortunes have declined. The Andhra Pradesh all-rounder struggled during the 2025 IPL season with his team, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Despite carrying an injury from the IPL, Nitish Kumar Reddy increased his bowling workload before the England Test series. However, after playing in the Birmingham and Lord’s Tests, he suffered a serious knee injury that ruled him out for the rest of the season.

India Today has reported that Nitish Kumar Reddy is facing legal action from his former player agency, Square The One Private Limited, over alleged unpaid dues and breach of contract. According to sources, Reddy parted ways with the agency during the 2024–25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy and later signed with a new manager—who also represents another prominent Indian cricketer.

Invoking Section 11(6) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, Square The One has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court seeking the appointment of a neutral arbitrator. The court is expected to hear the case on July 28. The agency alleges that Reddy unlawfully terminated their agreement and failed to honor financial commitments outlined in the contract.

Sources close to the matter revealed that Square The One had represented Reddy since 2021—well before his rise in the IPL—and played a key role in securing endorsement deals and commercial partnerships throughout his early career.

“Most of these cases are settled privately. But here, Nitish Kumar Reddy flatly refused to pay, insisting he had landed all deals independently,” a source claimed, requesting anonymity.

Now 22, Nitish Kumar Reddy has featured in seven Test matches and four T20Is for India, scoring 343 Test runs with one century and taking 8 wickets. In T20Is, he has registered 90 runs, including a half-century, and picked up three wickets.
