Harbhajan Singh Reveals Emotional Encounter With Sreesanth’s Daughter Over IPL Slap-Gate

In a candid conversation with Ravichandran Ashwin on his YouTube show Kutti Stories, former India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh opened up about a deeply emotional moment involving Sreesanth’s daughter, years after the infamous IPL slap-gate incident.
Harbhajan Singh recalled how the young girl refused to speak to him despite his affectionate approach.
“What hurt me the most was when I met his daughter after many years. I was speaking to her lovingly, but she said, ‘I don’t want to talk to you. You hit my father.’ That broke my heart. I was almost in tears,” he said.
He continued, “I kept questioning myself—what impression have I left on her? In her eyes, I’m the man who hurt her father. That thought crushed me. I still apologise to her, though I know I can’t change the past.”
Harbhajan added, “I just hope that as she grows older, she doesn’t carry that image of me. I want her to see me as someone who’ll always be there for her, someone who genuinely cares. That’s why I want to erase that chapter from our lives.”
Currently, Harbhajan is part of the India Champions squad in the World Championship of Legends 2025. Their scheduled opener against Pakistan Champions was called off after several players, including Harbhajan, withdrew from the match.
