The Indian cricket team, led by Shubman Gill, is gearing up to face hosts England in a five-match Test series. The series opener will take place at Headingley, Leeds, starting June 20, while the final Test is scheduled at The Kia Oval from July 31 to August 4.
Kuldeep Yadav: The squad is notably young and relatively inexperienced, with newly appointed captain Shubman Gill at the helm. However, some seasoned players such as Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, KL Rahul, and Ravindra Jadeja are also included.
Following the retirements of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli from Test cricket, India is expected to encounter significant challenges in the batting department under English conditions. Since 2007, India has not won a Test series in England, and with limited experience, securing a series victory will be a tough task.

Notably, T Dilip was reappointed as the fielding coach by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) ahead of India’s 2025 tour of England. Although the BCCI had recently dismissed him along with several other support staff members, they granted Dilip a one-year extension in May, reportedly based on a recommendation from ODI captain Rohit Sharma.
