The reason for this was de Villiers’ premature disclosure of Kohli’s wife Anushka Sharma’s second pregnancy. At that time, de Villiers had mentioned Anushka’s pregnancy while defending Kohli on his YouTube channel, which went viral.

De Villiers also commented on Kohli’s decision to retire from Test cricket. He said, “You should listen to your heart. Virat followed his gut feeling. He has done a lot for cricket. Glad that we will still be able to see him on the cricket field.” Kohli recently retired from Test cricket, but he will continue to play in the limited-overs format.
