The Australian team is gearing up to face South Africa in the WTC final, scheduled from June 11 to 15 at Lord’s.

Meanwhile, the Indian and England cricket teams are set to begin a five-match Test series. While the South Africa vs Australia match will conclude the ICC WTC 2023-25 cycle, the India vs England series will kick off the next ICC WTC cycle (2025-28).

Led by Shubman Gill, the Indian team has arrived in England and started preparations for the crucial Test series against Ben Stokes and his side. On Sunday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared video clips of the team’s first practice session at Lord’s on social media.

According to Code Sports, the Australian team led by Pat Cummins was initially denied entry to Lord’s Cricket Ground on Saturday, June 7, because the Indian cricket team was holding a practice session. As a result, the Australian players had to undertake a three-hour journey to find an alternative practice venue. Eventually, they were allowed to enter the stadium.

The upcoming Test series between England and India will kick off with the first Test at Headingley, Leeds, on June 20. The two teams will face each other at Lord’s for the third Test starting July 10. The series will conclude with the fifth Test at The Kennington Oval on August 4.

Meanwhile, Australia and South Africa are gearing up to compete for the ICC Test mace in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final 2023-25. Pat Cummins leads Australia, while South Africa’s captain is Temba Bavuma.

Australia are the defending champions, having defeated India convincingly in the previous final in 2023. South Africa secured their place in this WTC final by topping the 2023-25 WTC points table for the first time.
