Asia Cup: Sahibzada Farhan scored 58 against India and celebrated by mimicking gunfire with his bat. During Pakistan’s Super Fours clash with India in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025, Farhan didn’t hesitate to join in the “gun-fire” celebration after reaching his half-century. He later stated that he “doesn’t care” about the crowd’s reaction, emphasizing that the gesture was spontaneous and not directed at the opposition.
Asia Cup: Farhan’s 58 off 45 balls was the only fifty of Pakistan’s innings, helping the team post 171/5 in 20 overs. Immediately after reaching the milestone, he pointed his bat toward the dressing room and made a gun-firing motion, holding the bat like a rifle.
While his knock provided Pakistan a solid platform, the unusual celebration became a talking point among fans. Many were surprised by the gesture, and some criticized the opening batsman for it.
Asia Cup:“That celebration was just a spur-of-the-moment thing. I don’t usually do big celebrations after a fifty, but today it came to mind, so I did it. I don’t know how people will react, and honestly, I don’t care. Cricket should be played aggressively no matter the opponent. It doesn’t matter if it’s India or any other team; you have to play with intensity,” Farhan explained during the pre-match press conference ahead of the Sri Lanka game.
"I don't care about that" 🤷♀️

Asia Cup: “We weren’t making the most of powerplays” – Sahibzada Farhan on Pakistan addressing mistakes

To reach the final, Pakistan now needs victories over both Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Farhan expressed hope that the team would improve their performance during powerplays in their upcoming Super Four clash against Sri Lanka on Tuesday.
Asia Cup; “In the last few matches, we weren’t using the powerplays effectively and were losing early wickets. It’s crucial to make the most of the powerplays while protecting our wickets. Today, we managed the powerplay well, scoring over 90 runs in 10 overs without losing early wickets. Although we did collapse in the middle overs, we are determined to rectify that,” he said.
