Canadian : This match, held at the Maple Leaf North-West Ground in King City, was the 81st match of the League 2 cycle. Scotland won the toss and invited Canada to bat.

Canadian : This record was made on the very first ball when Scotland’s left-arm fast bowler Brad Currie dismissed opener Ali Nadeem. Nadeem was caught at the slips on zero off a good length ball.

On the second ball, Yuvraj Samra, standing at the non-striker end, was out. Pargat Singh’s drive hit Currie’s hand and hit the stumps as Samra was far away from the crease and the opener was run out without playing a ball. With this, Canada lost both their openers for zero runs in the first two balls of the innings, a first in international cricket, across formats.

Currie continued to demolish the Canadian batting order, taking three wickets in his opening spell and also played a key role in the dismissal of Samra. Canada were struggling at 18 for 5 and looked likely to score less than 50.

However, thanks to wicketkeeper-batsman Shreyas Mowwa’s 60, Jaskaran Singh’s 32 and Saad Bin Zafar’s 29, the team managed to reach a respectable score of 184 before being bowled out in 48.1 overs.

In reply, Scotland’s George Munsey led the team to victory with an unbeaten 84, while captain Richie Berrington contributed 64. Despite losing a few wickets, Scotland reached the target in 41.5 overs and won by seven wickets with 49 balls to spare.
