‘DRS has some flaws’ – Tendulkar asks ICC to abolish umpire’s call

Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin Tendulkar recently participated in ‘Ask Me Anything’ on Reddit.

Sachin Tendulkar, who is considered the God of Cricket, recently shared his views on the Decision Review System (DRS). Tendulkar has always been a well-known personality in the cricket world, it has been 12 years since he said goodbye to the game but even today he is mostly found associated with the game. Tendulkar analyzes the changes taking place in the cricket world and the rules related to cricket very closely, and does not miss any match of India.

Recently, on the Reddit media platform, a viewer asked Sachin that if he ever gets a chance to change any one rule of cricket, then which is that one rule which he would like to change?, to which he quickly replied that he would like to change the decision of DRS.

Sachin Tendulkar’s opinion on DRS

Sachin says that there are some flaws in the DRS process, like if the ball hits the wicket during ball tracking, the decision should be out clearly but in today’s era, the batsman is declared not out due to “umpire’s call”.

During a conversation with West Indies legend Brian Lara, Sachin advocated that the DRS decision for LBW out should be in favor of the fielding team. One thing I don’t agree with is ICC’s DRS, which they have been using for a long time.

In case of LBW, more than 50% of the ball must hit the stumps to overturn the decision taken on the field. They (batsman or bowler) have gone up only because they are unhappy with the decision taken on the field, so when the decision goes to the third umpire, let the technology do its job; Just like tennis – either in or out, there is nothing in between,” he said in a video chat with West Indies legend Brian Lara.
