When Sarfaraz Khan walked in, Mumbai were struggling at 98/3. The 27-year-old displayed exceptional skill and composure, reaching his century off just 92 balls. He also shared a crucial 100-run partnership with Aakash Parkar for the sixth wicket before retiring hurt after scoring 138 off 114 deliveries.
Starting the season in such commanding form, Sarfaraz Khan is sure to catch the selectors’ attention. With the domestic season underway, he will be keen to continue his rich run of form and fight for a return to the national side.
Sarfaraz Khan Misses Out on Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy
Sarfaraz Khan, 27, was overlooked by Indian selectors for the recently concluded Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025. He had been part of the squad during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 but did not feature in a single match.

Sarfaraz Khan last appearance for India came in the home Test series against New Zealand in November 2024, where he scored 371 runs in six matches at an average of 37.10, including one century and three half-centuries. After missing the Test series against England, Sarfaraz will be eyeing a comeback for the home series against the West Indies in October.
Off the field, the Mumbai cricketer recently shared a striking photo of his body transformation, having shed around 28 kgs in the past few months—a feat that drew widespread praise on social media.
Meanwhile, the Buchi Babu Trophy 2025 is set to conclude on September 9. The champions will take home Rs. 3 lakh, while the runners-up will receive Rs. 2 lakh.
