Rishabh Pant: Dhoni has not scored a single century abroad in Test cricket.
Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has recently described Rishabh Pant as the country’s best Test wicketkeeper-batsman so far. However, Chopra also admitted that Pant is still far behind Dhoni in terms of runs in Test cricket, but he has surpassed Dhoni in terms of most centuries in Test cricket while playing 43 less than him.

During this, 8 centuries have also come off Pant’s bat. So, in the recently concluded five-match Test series against England, Pant scored a total of 479 runs at an excellent average of 68.42.

Let us tell you that through a video uploaded on his YouTube channel recently, Aakash Chopra said- MS Dhoni is at the top in terms of number of Test matches played and runs scored. He has played 90 matches, 144 innings and scored 4876 runs at an average of 38.09 and has six centuries to his name. Rishabh Pant has scored six centuries in the last five years.
Chopra further said- If we look at the overall total, Rishabh Pant has already scored eight centuries and MS Dhoni had scored six centuries. Rishabh Pant is already in second place (in terms of number of runs). He is 1400 runs behind MS Dhoni and has played almost half the matches. If he plays more, he will definitely overtake MS Dhoni. And will join the list of India’s all-time best wicketkeeper batsman.
Pant injured on England tour
Also for your information, let us tell you that Rishabh Pant was injured while playing a reverse sweep against Chris Woakes in the last Test match played against England at Kennington Oval. Pant suffered a serious leg injury. He is currently recovering, and his playing in the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 seems doubtful.
