The Pakistan Shaheens’ tour ended on August 6 with a 2-1 win in the one-day series and two drawn three-day matches. While most of the team has returned to Pakistan, Haider Ali and captain Saud Shakeel remain in the UK, fueling speculation about Haider’s possible arrest.

Reports indicate that authorities confiscated Haider’s passport before granting him bail, but the matter is ongoing. The PCB confirmed it is aware of a criminal investigation currently being conducted by Greater Manchester Police.

“The investigation concerns an incident reportedly linked to the Pakistan Shaheens’ recent England tour. As part of its duty of care and commitment to safeguarding the welfare and legal rights of all players, the PCB has ensured Haider Ali has access to appropriate legal assistance during this process,” the board said.

The PCB emphasized its respect for UK legal procedures and stressed the importance of allowing the investigation to proceed without interference. Consequently, Haider Ali has been placed under provisional suspension effective immediately, pending the investigation’s outcome.

Since his international debut in 2020, the young batsman’s career has seen ups and downs, featuring only 2 ODIs and 35 T20Is for Pakistan to date.
