England captain Ollie Pope won the toss and elected to bowl first. India, powered by Karun Nair’s gritty half-century, were bowled out for 224 in their first innings. In response, England managed 247 runs, thanks to crucial fifties from Zak Crawley and Harry Brook.
India bounced back strongly in their second innings, posting a commanding 396, with Yashasvi Jaiswal leading the charge with a brilliant century. Although Harry Brook and Joe Root struck centuries in England’s second innings, the hosts fell short of the target, being dismissed for 367 runs.
