Virat Kohli’s heartfelt ‘touch the trophy’ gesture to Mayanti Langer during RCB’s celebrations moved the anchor to tears and captivated fans online.
A Victory for All: Virat Kohli’s Emotional Tribute During RCB’s Historic Win

The IPL Trophy victory on Tuesday was not just for the Rajat Patidar-led side, who defeated Punjab Kings by six runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, but for every player who has been part of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) family over the past 18 years — a sentiment Virat Kohli expressed sincerely.
During the celebrations, Virat Kohli’s heartfelt gesture towards broadcaster Mayanti Langer, whose husband Stuart Binny was part of the last RCB squad to reach an IPL final, moved many. In a viral clip, Virat Kohli took the trophy from Jitesh Sharma and invited Mayanti to touch it, leaving her visibly emotional amid the jubilation.
It was beautiful to see Kohli allow Mayanti to touch the trophy, rushing up to her excitedly, and her taking pride in that moment as an RCB girl married to an RCBian. pic.twitter.com/wEHgJHA2du

Mayanti Langer, originally from Delhi, has also made Bengaluru her home for over a decade. She once shared with Hindustan Times how love brought her to the city: “I followed a boy to Bengaluru (laughs). When I met Stuart and we started getting serious, we decided to stay together after we got engaged. That is how Bengaluru happened. I knew it was a long-term commitment; my husband got an apartment for us, and that is how I came to be here. I love the city, it has a charm about it.”
From Cubbon Park to Chinnaswamy Stadium, she has grown fond of many places and a close-knit group of friends, making Bengaluru truly feel like home.
RCB team gear up for victory parade

The celebrations will continue at 5 PM with a grand victory event at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, kicking off with the much-anticipated open-top bus parade from Vidhana Soudha to the stadium.
